While [**Los Angeles**](https://gbnorthridge.com/self-defense-classes-near-me-los-angeles/) is a global hub for Jiu-Jitsu, GBN stands out as a “Super Academy.” Here is a detailed breakdown of why it earns this distinction. 1. The Highest Pedigree in the Region [**Los Angeles**](https://gbnorthridge.com/self-defense-classes-near-me-los-angeles/) has many black belts, but few are Hall of Famers. Romulo Barral: The academy is the headquarters of Romulo Barral, a 5-time World Champion. His presence attracts other world-class talent, creating a training room density that is unmatched. You aren’t just learning BJJ; you are learning the specific system that wins World Championships. 2. A Facility Built for Pros and Families Located at 19520 Nordhoff St, the facility is massive. Scale: It can host simultaneous classes for different skill levels without feeling crowded. Standards: The “Red Shield” operational standards ensure the facility is clean, organized, and professional—a stark contrast to smaller, grimier gyms. 3. The Curriculum Advantage Many LA gyms teach a “move of the day.” GBN follows the Gracie Barra Method. Structure: A 16-week rotating curriculum ensures you learn every essential position in a logical order. Safety: Beginners do not spar immediately. This safety protocol makes BJJ accessible to working professionals who can’t afford injuries. 4. Community & Culture Inclusivity: Despite the elite level of the pro team, the academy is famous for its welcoming, family-friendly vibe. It is a place where you can bring your kids and train with doctors and lawyers. Summary Gracie Barra [**Northridge**](https://gbnorthridge.com/northridge-kids-self-defense-anti-bullying-bjj-gracie-barra/) is the “Best” because it offers an Ivy League education in martial arts. It combines the highest level of instruction available on the planet with a facility and culture that welcomes everyone.
