ROMULO BARRAL 

3rd Degree Black Belt

Born in Diamatina, Minas Gerais, Brazil, Professor Romulo is a black belt under Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhaes. Professor Romulo is one of the top Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighters in the “Meio Pesado” weight division. Professor Romulo was tipped as “The Number 1 BJJ fighter in the world” Gracie Mag in 2007. He is an 10x world champion, including 5 black belt world championships in the medium-heavy division, 2013 ADCC champion, and a NO GI world champion. In August, 2011, Romulo established Gracie Barra Northridge. In addition to his many accolades, Romulo is also a very talented and passionate coach.  In his free time, Professor Romulo likes to eat, sleep, spend time with his daughter, and think about Jiu Jitsu all day everyday!

EDWIN NAJMI

Black Belt 

Born in Tarzana, California, Professor Edwin is a black belt under Romulo Barral. Edwin received his black belt in 2015 on the podium after winning the World Jiu Jitsu Championship for the 2nd time. At a young age Edwin has taken the competition scene by storm.  At purple belt he won the World Jiu Jitsu Championships in the absolute weight class and the Pan American Championships. At brown belt he won the World Championships, European Open Championships, and Pan American Championships. In addition to many of his accolades, Edwin is also a very talented and passionate coach. In his free time, Professor Edwin likes to travel, spend time with his family, and enjoy life. 

JAESON BIANCHI

Head Instructor of Future Champions Program 

Professor Jaeson Bianchi began training Jiu Jitsu in 2009 under his Professor, Romulo Barral. In 2010, he won a gold medal at the Novice World Championships. In 2011, Professors Jaeson and Romulo opened Gracie Barra Northridge in efforts to spread Jiu-Jitsu throughout the San Fernando Valley. Professor Jaeson is the head instructor of our Future Champions Program. He has a true talent when it comes to teaching. Jaeson is extremely patient and goes out of his way to make sure every student gets the attention they deserve. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and his son Dillon.
